Rick Schermer is a native South Floridian who grew up on Miami Beach and has maintained strong ties to the community throughout his life. He is a licensed Florida Realtor with extensive knowledge of Miami-Dade County’s neighborhoods, development patterns, and community needs.

Rick currently serves as a board member of the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Department Citizens Advisory Committee for the Intracoastal District, where he provides input on community concerns and public safety initiatives. He serves on the Executive Board of the Skylake Highland Lakes Area Neighborhood Association, contributing to neighborhood advocacy, resident engagement, and local improvement efforts. Rick has also been recently appointed to the Miami Dade County Building Better Communities Citizens Advisory Committee, which advises the Mayor and Board of County Commissioners on projects funded through the 3.9 billion dollar Building Better Communities General Obligation Bond Program.
